Chef
Your rotation and mine, in one place
The recipes you already cook, scaled, shopped and planned exactly like the ones here.
Includes everything in Pro. Cancel anytime.
How it works
Three steps, about a minute
Your nan's recipe cards, the cookbook you use every week, the meals you already cook. Chef brings them into the system, so you can scale, plan and shop them exactly like ours. Photograph it or paste it in — we'll sort the rest.
01
Photograph or paste
A page from a book, a screenshot, a note you wrote on your phone. Whatever form it's in.
02
It becomes a recipe
Ingredients, quantities and method, pulled apart and structured the same way every recipe here is.
03
Plan it like any other
Drop it on a day, scale it to however many you're feeding, and every ingredient lands on the shopping list.
Try it first
Don't take my word for it
Every member gets one import free. Photograph something you already cook and see what it makes of it — you keep the recipe whether you subscribe or not.

Straight answers
What it won't do
Better you know now than find out after paying. And you can test it before paying anything — a free account gets you one import, and it's yours to keep.
It isn't perfect at reading handwriting
It handles printed pages and typed text well, and messier sources most of the time. You see the result before anything saves, and fixing a line takes seconds — but if your only copy is scrawled on the back of an envelope, expect to tidy it up.
There's a limit on imports
15 in your first week, so you can bring your rotation across in one sitting. 5 a week after that — more than most people cook new dishes in a month.
Your recipes stay yours
Nothing you import is published, shown to other members, or added to the public recipe library. It's your library, visible only to you.

Questions
Before you decide
Do I need Pro first?
No. Chef includes everything Pro has, so you can start here directly. If you're already on Pro, upgrading keeps every plan, list and saved recipe exactly where it is.
What happens to my recipes if I cancel?
They stay in your account. You'd lose the ability to import new ones and to plan with them, but nothing is deleted — resubscribe and it's all still there.
Can I import from a website?
Copy the recipe text and paste it in. Bear in mind that recipes are someone's work — this is for bringing across the ones you cook, not building a copy of somebody else's site.
Does it work with recipes in other languages or units?
It reads most things and converts to metric where it can. Check the result before saving, as you would with anything imported.
Is there a free trial of Chef?
Every member gets one import free. Bring across something you already cook, see what it makes of it, and keep it whether you subscribe or not.
Bring the rest of your cooking with you
Everything here, plus everything you already make.
Just want the planner and the list? Pro starts at £4.99 a month.
