The difference
Six o'clock. Fridge open. Nothing planned.
The same seven days, run two different ways.
How long it takes
A planned week and a full shopping list, in two taps
Hit randomise. Hit add all to shopping list. That is the whole job, and you can change any of it afterwards.
What changes
No more deciding at six o'clock
Every feature is designed to take a decision off you at the moment you least want to make it.
You know what's for dinner before you're hungry
Drag a recipe onto a day and it's decided. Two weeks sit side by side, so you can build next week while you're still cooking this one — nothing to clear out to make room. Change your mind whenever you like and the shopping list follows.
You do one shop, and you get everything
Every ingredient from every planned meal, in one list, grouped the way the shop is laid out. Duplicates merge, so two recipes wanting onions ask for onions once. Add your own bits to it as well.
You cook for eight as easily as for two
Set how many you're feeding and every quantity moves with it — in the ingredients, in the method steps, and on the shopping list. The things that shouldn't scale, like the oil in the pan, stay where they are.
Scaling a recipe from four to eight, quantities moving in the steps.
Everything else that comes with it
- Told the night before when something needs marinating or soaking
- Save as many recipes as you want, not ten
- Print a clean recipe card, or the whole week's plan
- Your screen stays awake while your hands are covered in flour
- Plan on your phone, cook from your tablet — it follows you
- Works as an app on your phone, no app store needed

Before you decide
Nothing here is a trap

No card, no details beyond an email. It ends on its own and you are never charged for it.
Cancelling takes ten seconds
Two clicks in your account. No email, no phone call, no offer you have to say no to three times.
Your plan stays yours
Cancel and nothing is deleted. Your plan, your list and your saved recipes are all still there if you come back.

Common questions
What happens when the free week ends?
Nothing, unless you decide otherwise. There is no card on file, so you are not charged and there is nothing to cancel. Every recipe on the site stays free to read, exactly as it was before, and so do your saved ones. What stops is the planner, the shopping list and scaling — and even those are only switched off, not wiped. Your plan and your list sit there waiting.
Why annual instead of monthly?
Annual works out at £4.16 a month, which is two months free compared with paying monthly. Both cancel anytime, so the only reason to pick monthly is if you would rather not commit a year up front.
How do I cancel?
Log in, go to My Account, click cancel next to your plan and confirm. About ten seconds. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, then drop back to the free plan on your own.
What happens to my saved recipes if I cancel?
Your account carries on as a free one. The first ten saved recipes stay available, and anything above ten stays in your account and switches back on if you ever resubscribe. Nothing is deleted.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes, whenever you like. Start the plan you want from the pricing above and it replaces the one you are on. Payments do not adjust themselves, so email me once you have switched and I will refund whatever was left on the old plan — you should never pay for the same week twice.
I'm on Chef and want to drop to Pro
Same thing — start Pro from the pricing above and it takes over. Your imported recipes are not deleted, you just stop being able to add new ones or plan with them. Email me afterwards and I will sort the difference.
Is my payment secure?
Payments go through Stripe, the same provider most UK retailers use. Card details are never stored on Cooked Properly, and I never see them.
Are there ads?
None. Memberships are how the site is paid for, which is exactly why there are no banners, no pop-ups and no autoplay adverts between you and a recipe.
